matter the outlet I needed, I

More and more
single women are buying homes—a
trend driven by rising college
graduation rates, workforce
opportunities, and earning
power. Shifting demographics
also fuel the trend; women are
getting married later in life,
and don’t see marriage as a
precursor to homeownership.
According to the National
Association of Realtors,
single-female homebuyers
accounted for one-third of all
condominium sales and a record
22 percent of all purchases in
2006, up from 14 percent in
1995—more than double the number
of single men, who make up just
9 percent of buyers. |
